What was the highlight of Quinta da Bela Vista
The hotel offered excellent facilities, but the standout was the exceptional staff.
The facilities were excellent, but what truly stood out for us was the staff. Everyone was exceptional—helpful, attentive, and always in good spirits. The pool was well-maintained, with towels and deckchairs readily available at any time of day. We also had access to the sauna. The hotel is situated away from the town center, making it peaceful and quiet. We loved the garden as well!
We loved everything, but if we had to be critical, we would mention the small water glasses at breakfast (about 150ml). We found ourselves needing to refill our water quite frequently during the meal.

What was the highlight of Quinta da Bela Vista
Old(fasioned) charm
It is a nicely located in a garden of previous quinta that serves as a la carte restaurant and bar. Quinta is the most memorable structure in the property. Furnished with old furniture and feels like an old house. Staff is nice and friendly. Rooms are spacious. Ours had gorgeous view over garden, Funchal and cliffs beyond with sunrise.
The hotel is built around the old quinta, probably in the eighties and needs serious upgrades to maintain its 5stars. Rooms and upholstered furniture seem really dated and old fashioned not in a good way. Breakfast buffet seems to be more at home in a three star hotel. Staff tries to do their best but also their service is a bit rusty. Pool area is really bad, they need a new pool, gym and sauna at least. Gardens are not well maintained, seem overgrown with dry trees…
